2022 Henri Germain Bourgogne Cote d’ Or

I have long been an enthusiastic fan of the domaine, not only in terms of the intrinsic quality of the wines but also how pure they are…Be sure to look closely at the lower level wines as they box well above their weight
— Burghound

Here again is a wine that has flown under the radar until recently: Domaine Henri Germain. I agree with Burghound’s sentiments, expressed in the quote above, but the moment you have Burghound commenting is also the moment the public has caught on.

Here ye, here ye: Jean-François Germain, from his estate in Meursult, is producing pure, mineral driven, mouthwateringly delicious wines, albeit in small quantities. Yes, color me a grumpy retailer, the secret is out.

This Bourgogne Côte-d’Or comes from the domaine’s younger vines in Meursault, and delivers everything you would expect from a top producer's entry level wine. Bring this one to a blind tasting, it will turn heads on the reveal!

Most of you understand that the 2022 vintage has been a tremendous success for white Burgundy. So many outstanding wines up and down the hierarchy, it will go down as one of the vintages, to which all others are compared. And during such years, one should always seek wines at the lower levels because they tend to outperform their price points, and deliver a top notch Burgundy experience.

I’d already done the homework here in advance, which my prices will still reflect. Grab some before it's gone, you’ll be glad you did.
