Domaine Faiveley 2022

Every vintage since 2007, I’ve offered Faiveley wines and personally, I’m quite fond of them!  One of my earliest “great bottle” experiences was a 1964 Faiveley Musigny in Beaune. Yes, kids, there was a time when you could buy this type of wine off the list at a restaurant in Beaune, at a fraction of what you would pay – even at retail in those days.
Oh how times have changed. Big sigh….

Since Erwan Faiveley has taken the reins of this historic Estate, starting with the 2007 vintage, we have seen the trajectory of this estate soar! Not only has Erwan headed the construction of a state of the art winery, the size of a city block in Nuits St Georges, he has also changed the style of the wines. They are no longer hard, dusty, tannic wines that need to rest in your cellar for a generation in hopes they may one day become drinkable. The wines under Erwan Faiveley lean more red fruited, with a softer, more supple profile that is balanced, and dare I say, modern.

I’m excited to be offering these 2022 Faiveley as we have a tremendous vintage coming your way. The vintage is riper than 2021, the wines have more fruit mid- palate, but what I find so attractive about this vintage is there is great freshness and transparency to the wines, something I absolutely loved about 2021.

The following list of wines are my favorites – the best in the lineup!  Warning, there are NOT huge quantities but there should be enough for my buyers who’d like to pick up a 6pk or two.
