The Bad Boys of Champagne

The Champagne region is known for many things; heritage, prestige, inheritance, legacy and multi-generational families producing the King’s official wine, etc.

It is NOT known for its disruptors nor its rule breakers, both which are worn like a badges of honor on the streets of Silicon Valley - but not so much in Reims, France.

Since COVID-19, however, when many Champagne houses rescinded on their grape orders, small grape-growers have been learning to make their own way in the world. Some of them are in full revolt from conventional wisdom. They are flamboyant, young and highly successful.

While this may be very French, it’s not Champagne, and it’s rocking the region.
